ABOUT THE BUILD
Habitat for Humanity are looking for 150 volunteers to join Rock the House which will build 12 homes for families in Indonesia.
Over just one week, you’ll work with a team alongside fellow volunteers from all works of life, home beneficiaries and local skilled labourers to help construct a new home for a family in need. No prior construction experience is required, and there is a job for every skill and fitness level.

Better, affordable living conditions lead to improved health, stronger childhood development and the ability — and financial flexibility — to make forward-looking choices.
We work in partnership with communities to address housing needs and build strength, stability and self-reliance.
Rock the House will be building 12 homes for families living in substandard conditions, but will also feed into Habitat for Humanity’s wider work in the community of Selopamioro. Families will also receive skills training and with a home to call their own, they have a place to start a business and earn a steady income.

So that all your fundraising money can contribute to the build.
Registration fee - $160
This will cover medical and evacuation insurance, online fundraising page, mandatory police check and a build pack including a team hat, shirt and build manual.
This is non-refundable and cannot be fundraised.
Minimum donation - $1700
This contribution is tax deductible and we encourage you to reach your target by fundraising. This contribution will go towards Habitat Indonesia, who will continue to support the project in Yogyakarta, as well as to Habitat Australia.
In-country expenses - $700
This cost will cover:
- Twins share accommodation (Check in Saturday 30th September - check out Saturday 7th October)
- Ground transportation including airport transfers
- All means from Sunday 1st October to Friday 6th October
- Entrance and guide at Prambanan Temple
- Bottled water
Flights, visa, vaccinations, travel insurance and personal expenses aren’t included in your Global Village trip costs. These expenses cannot be fundraised and are not tax deductible.

Here’s what you’ll get up to during your week in Indonesia

Arrive in Yogyakarta
Sunday 1st October
Spend the day exploring the Prambanan temples and enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel
Monday 2nd October
Full day of building. Dinner at the hotel
Tuesday 3rd October
Full day of building. Dinner at a local restaurant
Wednesday 4th October
Full day of building. Dinner at the hotel followed by karaoke
Thursday 5th October
Full day of building. Dinner at a local restaurant
Friday 6th October
Half day of building followed by handover ceremony in the community. In the evening we have a farewell party at the hotel with a BBQ at the pool

Flights, visa, vaccinations, travel insurance and personal expenses are not included in your Global Village trip costs and need to be managed by each individual participant.
Can I fundraise for the costs associated with the build? e.g. flights, accommodation.
Do I need to get a visa to travel to indonesia?
The Indonesian Government has recently introduced visa-free short visits (30 days) for Australians. Click here for more information.

How much time will be spent building each day?
Generally, each day you will spend 7 hours on the build site. During the day you will have three main breaks, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. We encourage all volunteers to take rests regularly. You will return to the hotel at around 4:30pm each day. Each afternoon you will have approximately 2 – 3 hours before dinner to relax, reflect on the day and to wash away the dirt!
If you are not feeling well and want to leave early from the build site we will have extra vehicles on hand to transport you back to the hotel.
