ABOUT THE BUILD
Habitat for Humanity are looking for 150 volunteers to join Rock the House which will build 12 homes for families in Indonesia.
Over just one week, you’ll work with a team alongside fellow volunteers from all works of life, home beneficiaries and local skilled labourers to help construct a new home for a family in need. No prior construction experience is required, and there is a job for every skill and fitness level.
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe a safe and decent home is a rock solid foundation for a family, an opportunity on which they can build a better life. Better, affordable living conditions lead to improved health, stronger childhood development and the ability — and financial flexibility — to make forward-looking choices.
We work in partnership with communities to address housing needs and build strength, stability and self-reliance.
Rock the House will be building 12 homes for families living in substandard conditions, but will also feed into Habitat for Humanity’s wider work in the community of Selopamioro. Families will also receive skills training and with a home to call their own, they have a place to start a business and earn a steady income.
Through shelter, we empower.
